Okay, so I feel the need to explain this to people...
I’m pretty sure the whole "handsome shark" thing, in reference to Michael Fassbender, started out as a Misfits joke. It certainly did for me...when I made it in the theater. Specifically, during the scene when Erik’s swimming towards Shaw’s boat. He glides through the water like a handsome shark, okay? It makes sense because Nathan, from the show Misfits, calls Simon a "handsome shark" because of his beady shark-like eyes. Or something? I don’t really know. It’s kind of hard to explain Nathan without just showing you the show. But the point is that it’s funny. (Especially due to the way he pronounces "shark" like "sh-air-k".) And I’m pretty sure that’s how it started, and now it’s morphed into this thing about how Fassbender has a frightening smile with a billion teeth, which is also hilarious and I do enjoy the evolution of the meme (some of the fanart to come out of it has made me cry with laughter). But I needed people to know that, apparently. And probably none of you will care. WHATEVER. I did this for myself.

I legitimately started crying. This is incredible.

Yet another Merlin themed rant.
Below the cut is my (spoilery) response to this post on tumblr, because apparently, I have a lot of ~feelings~.

Gaius: I can see deep into your heart, and it’s cold. Cold as stone. )

This is something that has really been bothering me.
oh, fandom. once again, we need to talk. - Fabulous post about shipper freedom within Merlin fandom in particular.

Cut for my rambling on it. )

"I'll hold your hand."

Brb, crying.

That right there? That is a gaze of love. NO SERIOUSLY, HOW IS THAT NOT A GAZE OF LOVE?! I'm surprised he didn't startle, like, oh shit, I totally wasn't just staring at you like that, haha. I just can't even.

Oh god, I've succumbed. [profile] littlewolfstar, now we share all the fandoms ever.

They are ridiculously charming.

This is amazing.

You know you've been working in a restaurant for too long when you see stacks of dirty plates in the food court at school and almost get up to go put them in the trash. There's also the strong urge to clean dirty tables. I literally started rising from my seat. o_o I have to remind myself that I'm not getting paid for this. Plus, there's the fact that people will wonder why a strange girl is cleaning their table.

I quite like it. :) I'm sure I'll love it after a few more listens. Gaga's music has this weird way of growing on people, doesn't it? I've only ever immediately liked Poker Face, Teeth, and Dirty Rich. The rest had to grow on me.

FRIEND KAT: "I suddenly realized the other day that I like Gaga. And not only do I like her music, but I'm kind of obsessed. I was listening to Bad Romance on repeat and I thought, Wait, why am I listening to this? Why do I even have this song?!! and the epiphany struck." XD

People have been comparing Gaga to Madonna since she got popular, which is totally fine and justifiable, but now some are saying that she's ripping off Madonna's Express Yourself. This irks me for a number of reasons:

1) Gaga and Madonna may sing about similar things, in these two songs and otherwise, but Gaga's and Madonna's styles are unique to themselves.
3) As far as I'm concerned, there can never be enough songs about female/people-who-are-different empowerment.

My sister and I often sit in the living room with our netbooks while our mom watches television. Tonight, she was watching Bones. Hilariousness ensued:

*Bones and Booth walk into a store in Washington D.C.'s Chinatown and Booth motions towards a couple of dried seahorses*

Bones: Seahorses are a Chinese aphrodisiac.

*super hot Chinese store owner dude appears*

My sister (Na): No, he's a Chinese aphrodisiac.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

However you celebrate or don't celebrate the holidays, may they be as fabulous as Johnny Weir, and may you have as much love in your life as Steve has for Danny!

Simon Amstell is one of my favorite people ever. He should be one of yours as well. His Do Nothing stand-up routine is one of the funniest routines I've seen in a while, and he's just generally hilarious and adorable.

I need to make a "my favorite people" picspam post because it has been a long time since I've picspamed.

I had a dream last night where I was trapped in a building with rabid monster tigers. Not only that, but they had all previously been people. WTF, weretigers? Ooookay.

* Chris Pine is a hotass (even though he has an unfortunate case of Edward Cullen hair in that first pic). Good god.

* Everyone go read this now. It is Sherlock high school AU and it is the cutest thing ever. I repeat: SHERLOCK HIGH SCHOOL AU.

John asks Sherlock to use his science of deduction skills on him, Sherlock hesitates, but then does it anyway:

"Is that it?"

"Yes," says Sherlock. He stands up and crumples his sandwich wrapper in one hand. "That's usually it."

Oh my god, my heart. ;__; Also this...

Omg guys! Look, I'm alive!
Taking a short break from essay writing to let everyone know that I am in fact, still in the land of the living.

* Saw Muse in concert on Tuesday and HOLY FUCKING CHRIST THEY ARE SO AMAZINGLY TALENTED, I CAN'T EVEN. I was seriously standing there in awe, letting their talent wash over me like some ocean of musical genius. (Omg words! I can use them! Perhaps too enthusiastically.) I mean, at the end of the concert they sounded JUST AS good as they did at the beginning. How? I..wha? Do they get tired? Are they superhuman? I'm seriously considering this as a possibility, ya'll. And dear sweet Jesus, Matthew Bellamy is a sexy bastard when he sings Undisclosed Desires. I mean more than usual. (Also, he rocked sparkly pink pants. :D) I could go on, but then this entry would turn into a giant concert report and this is supposed to be a SHORT break from essay writing! Focus, Missa, focus.

* In the past week and a half I've read both Hot Target, Force of Nature, and am now about a third of the way through All Through the Night. All three books are part of Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter's Inc. universe, and feature one of the OTP-est OTPs to ever grace the land of fiction, Jules Cassidy and Robin Chadwick. I can't explain how wonderful they are, you really have to read the books to understand. Jules and Robin's story isn't the leading romance plot in either Hot Target or Force of Nature because Brockmann mostly writes het romance and it is my understanding that she apparently had to fight to get Jules and Robin's story in them at all. But Jules became a fan favorite, so she was able to publish All Through the Night, which is all about them. ;___;

I really enjoyed the het romance in Hot Target, and skimmed the het romance in Force of Nature because OMG I HAD TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH JULES AND ROBIN. Why can't all books she writes be all Jules and Robin all the time? D: This sad untruth is mostly forgivable because what we do have is AMAZING, GUH. One more bit of incentive: Jules is an FBI agent and Robin is an actor...and the one who is closeted for much of the series is not the FBI agent. FTW! You can order them for, like, fifty cents on Amazon (which is what [personal profile] mjules did for my sister and I when we repeatedly ignored her urging us to read them, lol). Go forth! Order them and bask in the glory of their OTP-ness.

I can't stop listening to the Repo! The Genetic Opera soundtrack. Has anyone seen that movie? I was unaware that Anthony Stewart Head can sing. I was also unaware that I would find that super hot. Yeah. There is no shame. I'm sure more people had a crush on Giles than would admit it.

I also can't stop listening to 30 Seconds to Mars. And speaking of attractive people, JARED LETO. Sheesuz. Eyeliner. Am I right? Uhuh. Seriously though, From Yesterday is a really great song. Also Night of the Hunter. And yay for Kings and Queens winning Best Rock Video at the VMAs. \:D/ It is a very happy making song/video.

Also, yay for Lady Gaga. Just in general. You have no idea how omg my heart I was about her using her entrance to stage a protest against DADT and that her guests were service men and women who were discharged under DADT. I mean, just. That woman is amazing. ;___;

Shameless meme pimping. I want more characters to talk about!

"If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal."

I love you people. I really do. You're all amazing. ♥

Sherlock'd In His Pants. You know you want to click on this cut. )

Trailer mash-up of Sherlock & Doctor Who. This is, quite frankly, brilliant. )

So, Tom Hardy replaced Michael Fassbender in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which on the one hand is D: because no more Fassbender, but on the other hand is OMG AWESOME because T-Hard and Bandersnatch in another movie together! :D :D :D

And a meme from [ profile] mercuries.

E-mail from Na (at work): Are you Twisp or Catsby?
My reply: Definitely Catsby. You're much more articulate than I am.
